Veteran Wall Street Journal travel reporter Scott McCartney writes in his recent column, “Whatever You Do, Don’t Buy An Airline Ticket On…” that, indeed, travelers are generally better off purchasing on Tuesday, as most airlines launch sales Monday night, competitors match on Tuesday, and by Thursday or Friday the sales have likely expired.
